After a beautiful June day of cleaning up a 4WD access campsite we have adopted, a
few of us decided to head down to the beach at Harrison lake for a bit before calling it a
day. Upon reaching the beach we discovered a truck in the lake. Later we were told it
accidentally backed itself into the lake. These guys were wet and a bit panicked.
Ecstatically one of them came up out of the water shouting, "you have a winch, you
have a winch" can you pull us out?!" Just looked like a typical black Dodge, but I
could not tell much of what it was considering only the glass and hood were out of the water.
There were probably fish swimming in every part of that truck. A buddy anchored
himself to my Jeep and I strung out the cable on my trusty WARN M8274. This was quite
a load, but the WARN winch pulled it up without complaint. The closer
the truck came to being out of the water, the larger I came to realize it was.
Not just a typical Dodge. This was a Cummins Diesel powered Dodge and lifted no
less. With the truck winched out of the water, I then notice there is something behind it.
A 25' flat deck trailer! Quite the pull for just an 8000lb winch. The truck and
trailer probably weighed in more than that. Plus the fish!
