| | Duties & Responsibilities: | This position is a part of the Senior Team responsible for overall development of Warns Strategic Growth Plan. Collaboratively contributing as a member of the Senior Team and being responsible for leading a team of engineers on new product development (NPD) and sustaining product engineering for all product categories within Warn Industries, which includes aftermarket, industrial, OEM. In addition to driving our company strategic plan initiatives, responsibilities include technical oversight of design and development of new products via the New Product Development Stage-Gate process beginning at Stage Gate 2. The VP will manage Directors of Engineering who have responsibility for project managers, design engineers, product engineers and prototype/test engineers/technicians as the key driver of sales and profitable growth through multiple product launches per year.
| | Minimum Requirements: | Bachelor's or Masters degree in engineering or science. MBA preferred.
Ten to fifteen years of product development leadership and project management experience in a Stage Gate product development environment with evidence of successful product launches.
Demonstrated experience in managing a large number of projects through a team of direct reports in a cross-functional environment.
Consumer Products Industry experience preferred.
Organizational skills, aggressive drive for performance, and extremely high levels of personal accountability are required.
Fundamental knowledge of mechanical gear, electrical system, and fabricating is strongly desired.
Working knowledge of Pro Engineer finite element analysis and JDE is strongly desired.
Evidence of strong problem solving skills including identify problems, potential problems, and developing solutions.
Proven track record of creativity and innovation.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, writing, planning, and presentation skills and demonstrated ability to lead by direct control and influence for positive business outcomes.
Experience in working with Asian suppliers/partners on new product development is required
Flexibility to travel with business needs to work with domestic and international partners.
Working knowledge of personal computers with experience in the use of such programs as Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint.
